Remarks:Update 20/02/2013: Like many, I still scratch my head to digest the fact that this is the most popular shot of LHR on JP. Strange but I am not complaining and would gladly and gratefully take the honour! ;o)
She is no longer with us and was broken up at Cardiff during November 2011.
Remarks: The ill fated plane have been lifted off the ground and on to rollers, ready to be moved (into a hanger?). Note the BMI A319 lineing up on runway 27L, not at the usual threshold but about one third down the runway. It was the procedure until YMMM was moved. Also the usual departure and arrival runway switch during the day didn't happen until the move of YMMM. 27L was solely used for departure and 27R was for arrival plus some heavies departure.
Remarks: I thought it was very nice to have the engine and under carriage leg next to the very nice Plane Plaza model shop. The circular structure to the left of the under carriage and with ballons/balls inside is the front section of a KLM Clity Hopper F70/100 with fully intact cockpit. I was in a rush so didn't get to find the identity of that or what aircraft the engines and under carriage are from. Any idea any one?
Update: Thanks everyone for pointing out that the forward sections is of an ex TWA DC9-32 and not a Fokker. Serves me right for making myself look stupid by relying on unskilled info ;o) Also thanks for the info that the gear and engines are from a DC10. Cheers All!
Remarks: Very sparsely populated flight from DEL to LHR. In the rear economy cabin there were only around 20 passengers and there are around 103 seats.
Remarks: First photo on jetphotos.net. This might also be the first on the net. This is most probably ex. N810WP and C/N 363. The other one of the fleet (S2-AER) seen at DAC on the same day undergoing major engine works.
Remarks: Many thanks to captain Lars (sorry I cannot remember the last name) for this picture. He was very accommodating when I requested him to allow me to take a picture of the cockpit after our flight EK582 from DXB to DAC . He even asked me to wait and pulled the seats back so I could get clear view. Thanks captain!
Remarks: Terminal 5 ramp at 07:00 AM. Photo taken from seat 26A on board KLM 737 - PH-BDS. Taking off from runway 27R on my way to AMS for a day's spotting trip. There are 38 BA aircraft and 4 other aircraft on this shot. Also visible is runway 09R.
Remarks: Shot while taking off on runway 10 on board Jet AW B737 (VT-JGA) to Dhaka. View of one of the domestic apron and lots of interesting stuff for me. Shame I could not identify the reg of most of these aircraft. Most interesting is the Indian Airforce B737 towards top/mid left and also a couple of HS748s mid right. Small part of the biz ramp is also visible bottom left. Part of the other domestic apron is visible top/mid right. The air force base/ramp is on the far side. Click here to see a ramp shot of that side.
Remarks: 17mm view from seat 10K on board QR006 (A7-AGC) to Doha, taking off from runway 27L. Below is BA territory aka Terminal 5. I think every single type in BA main line fleet based at LHR is visible here. Also visible is number 3 of our 4 trusted Rolls-Royce Trents that are THE most important thing on this journey ;o)
