Remarks: The "Wyland" scheme graced this Aloha 737 for a brief time prior to the airline's demise. As of mid-2011, this aircraft is flying for Gol as PT-VBV, having first gone to Varig, with the same registration, after her service with Aloha.
Remarks: Operating out of the Stead Nevada Army Guard base, this Blackhawk and a sister teamed up with the U.S. Bureau of Land Management and Reno Fire Department to clean up abandoned vehicles on BLM land at Peavine Peak in Northwest Reno.
Remarks: Aloha's "Aukele" departs KRNO, looking a little out of place against a background of mountains and pine trees. After the demise of Aloha, this aircraft served briefly with Sun Country in a hybrid scheme, and is currently operated by Lucky Air of China as B-5246.
Remarks: 2007 was a bad year for wildfires in the Sierra Nevada. This aircraft, seen "filling up" in the Truckee River, is working the Hawken Fire, which threatened residences in the western foothills of Reno.
Remarks: Vice-President Dick Cheney arriving at KRNO in "Air Force Two." Cheney was a last-minute substitution for President Bush as keynote speaker for the White House Conference on North American Wildlife Policy.
Remarks: Early morning departure for Frontier's "Misty the Arctic Fox." Frontier discontinued service to KRNO at the end of August, 2007 - the unique tails are very much missed.
