Remarks: A special day as Mount Cook Airline returns to Mount Cook Airport on schedule for the first time in 10 years. Its routing of CHC-MON-ZQN return was a 6 week trial over the summer to see if it was viable to return to MON on a yearly seasonal basis.
Remarks: Strong winds forced this Qantas A380 to depart from the much shorter crosswind runway 07 at Sydney. Departing as QF1 to SIN and LHR. What a sight - it didn't need much runway at all!
Remarks: Climbing out of Mount Cook Airport and over Lake Pukaki en-route to Queenstown. Lake Pukaki's water is this brilliant blue colour due to the minerals brought down from the glaciers.
