Remarks: The rear Economy Class cabin pictured while cruising at FL370, prior to commencing our descent into Changi as SQ 531 from Ahmedabad. You can clearly make out the cabin sloping upwards towards the rear of the aircraft in this picture - a distinct feature of the A330/A340 series. Remarks: Looks like an architect's scale model down there! I had this stunning overview of the Downtown Dubai complex, with the Burj Khalifa easily dwarfing everything else in view. Also visible is the Dubai Mall (world's largest shopping mall by area - to the right of the Burj Khalifa) and the Dubai Fountain (in the man-made lake at the bottom of the Burj Khalifa). Remarks: Economy Class cabin view on this 12-year old A330 as we prepare to descend into Ahmedabad. At the moment, we are flying parallel to the Pakistani coast, as seen on the drop-down display screens. I will gladly take this cabin any day compared to their 10-abreast 777s. Aircraft docked at the gates include a Saudi Arabian 747-300, an Emirates 777-300 and an Air India A330. Two 777s can be seen parked outside the Air India hangars in the right corner, while an El Al 767-200 is parked at a stand awaiting its return flight back to Tel Aviv. Note the word "Om" written in orange Devanagari script on both sides of the panel, which is a sacred Hindu syllable evoking the blessings of the Almighty.
