Remarks: BAW 275 is pictured here getting the royal treatment just beyond the currently empty nothern wing of the A concourse in celebration of BA's new daily non-stop service LHR-LAS to be operated with a triple. Among the the individuals on board is Las Vegas Mayor Oscar Goodman with the usual compliment of scantily clad show girls. Welcome to LAS BA! It is about time! It is amazing how powerful the lights on those fire engines are!
Remarks: This massive centurion heavy is pictured here blasting off 27L operating service to Campinas in the failing light. The MD-11 never ceases to amaze me!
Remarks: The first arrival of this beauty since the inception of this flight with sunlight, BAW 275 arrives from LHR nearly 30 minutes early just in time to catch the setting sun due to a significant tailwind. 1600 Pixels Wide!
Remarks: This G4 shorty races east past us a few thousand feet below out of LAS as we enter the last hour of our flight to LAS. Photo taken directly above Moab, Utah aboard VX251 N627VA from JFK, FL380, 592 mph, outside temperature -71 degrees and 460 miles to go. Details compliments of the Virgin America on board interactive entertainment console.
Remarks: VS7 operating a 346 and AA137 operating a triple- follow each other in to Los Angeles from London at cruise with contrails clearly visible over the Las Vegas valley. The VS 340 though departing later had been gaining on the American triple for some time. These birds landed today within two minutes of each other with Virgin taking the lead. Not something you see everyday!
Remarks: Special schemes galore today on the south side Tom Bradley International Terminal. LA, NH, MU, and KE are all currently occupying the gates displaying various sponsorship and alliances. This is indeed the age of celebratory schemes!
Remarks: I have observed many crosswind arrivals in LAS, some a bit hairy but none quite like this one. Flight 1850 flailing wildly on approach from MSP had to abandon the effort after several steep side to side swings and and a strong upward surge. The second approach was not much better but at least successful. It is not too often I become concerned for my own personal safety while spotting! Funny just after this the DE heavy turned out the approach and was seen circling east over the valley to take the 19's instead.Similar landings have been observed with 73G's and such but this is the first time I have seen such a large aircraft thrown around in this manner.

Remarks: UAL 781 treks southwest to LAX from DEN @ FL340 due to some significantly larger company slighty ahead at higher altitudes on the same route. The top most contrail belongs to KL601- PH-BFV from AMS and the contrail at the bottom leading the pack is LH 456- D-ABTH from FRA. These mixed configuration jumbos are maintaining an altitude separation of approximately 1500 feet @FL380/ 365 respectively. All these birds have less than 300 miles to go.
