Remarks: the circling approach to runway 08 is deemed to be one of the most difficult approaches all over the world, on this picture you can see why: doing a 180° turn just about 1000ft above ground level and diving down a short mountainside to the airport whilst being surrounded by the alps, on the top of the image you can see where the airport is located
Remarks: A Lauda 737-800 in position for departure on runway 08 - not the place you to be in the next few seconds. Unfortunately this spot will be closed due to the extension of the runway saftey area. [Google Earth 47°15'31.05"N 11°19'47.42"E]
Remarks: What a punch of special visitors! Eleven US-Army Black Hawk Helicopters visited Innsbruck for a fuel-stop on their way to the Kosovo. In the background an Austrian A321 taxis out for its flight to Vienna.
Remarks: Blasting out of runway 26 on a visual climbout to the west along the Inn valley. Sun is just disappearing behind the mountains leaving behind gorgeous light conditions and perfectly lightening the plane. If you look closely you can see the engines and the runway being reflected in the fuselage. Just about half an hour before taking this shot clouds moved into the valley and it got quite dark, but I decided to stay and hope for improvement. It was worth it, the sun just came out for a few minutes giving the possibility for that shot. I love it!
Remarks: taken from the Hafelekar, 2330m or 7664ft above sea level, with a Niki A320, Gulfstream V and some smaller general aviation planes on the apron
