Remarks: Close-up view of the Rolls Royce Merlin engine of composite RAF 361 Spitfire Mk.IX (LF9) RR232 owned by Sydney collector Peter Sledge, on display at HMAS Albatross/ NAS Nowra on 06Oct1986. I believe that the fuselage of the Spitfire came from South Africa, the (clipped) wings from Thailand, and the Merlin engine came from an RAAF Lincoln bomber. Remarks: Australians commemorated the 98th Anniversary Anzac Day on 25 April 2013. In Canberra, the Anzac Day Parade and Marchpast was at the Australian War Memorial. After the playing of the Last Post, three RAAF F/A-18 Hornets from 2OCU Williamtown NSW performed this Formation Flypast - over both Parliament Houses, Anzac Parade, the AWM and Mt Ainslie. A21-43 (Callsign Hunter 12, at Right), is flying a little wide. Formation shown climbing over Lake Burley Griffin, with jet efflux 'melting' Reconciliation Place. (The lakeside Australian Flag is at Half Mast.) Lest We Forget.
Remarks: Head-on top-side view of Royal New Zealand Navy Seasprite NZ3604, pulling pitch with wheels down in dull conditions on Sunday 31Mar2013, at the Classic Fighters Omaka Airshow (at NZOM, near Blenheim NZ). The hills at rear are obscured by fog, after overnight rain. The helo looks like a large preying mantis from this angle.
