Remarks: A long turnaround by easyjet standards allows time for a few minutes on the Flight Deck before our departure to Manchester. My thanks to the crew.
Remarks: A new A380 wing waits to be shipped to France by sea and road transport. Seen here waiting at the dock on the River Dee for shipping to Mostyn where it will be transhipped to an ocean going vessel for the trip to Bordeaux and thence by road to Toulouse and the final A380 assembly line. At the time this was taken the A380 was suffering delays in production due to problems with the design of the electrical systems. The A380 is of course now in service and proving to be a great success with its operators.
Remarks: A newly manufactured set of wings is carefully loaded aboard Super Transporter “TA”. Note the jack in place under the nose which is powered by the vehicle next to the aircraft. Out of shot is a similar device supporting the tail section. A visit to Hawarden demonstrates the ingenuity and resourcefulness of Airbus in the management of its logistics not to mention the impressive nature of its manufacturing facilities.
Remarks: RH is about to have a 50 minute wait while lined up on the extension to Runway 05 following the discovery of broken glass on the tarmac, (located where the two trucks are situated in the distance). Meanwhile a Beluga flies a holding pattern over the airfield and another Citation is being held at a local VOR (Kegun). This view also shows the downward incline of this runway.
Remarks: Taken during the 2012 Air to Air Academy at Oostmalle. The photo platform in use is Shorts Skyvan G-BEOL, cargo door open. The large radial engine of the Yak makes an impressive sight.
