Remarks: Close up of Sierra Alpha shortly prior to departure. Note the de-icer on the wings...yes it was cold! A recent addition to the UK Register, previously N941TS
Remarks: This image gives you an idea of the view from 'Clutter Hill' with runways 25L & 25R in the foreground & clearly visible in the distance is the world famous 'Hollywood' sign on the hillside. This was taken in the early evening sun which is behind you for most of the day giving fantastic photo opportunities.
Remarks: XH558 turns to line up bathed in sunshine after a few hours of inclement weather. However it was well worth getting soaked during the morning to eventually see this beauty flying. There had been much doubt about the display due to the low cloud & driving rain earlier in the day.
Remarks: Can you believe that the pilot & co pilot are looking straight down my lens & both with a nice smile! I didn't even notice this at the time. Special scheme comes with a special smile! Fantastic.
Remarks: This is the view from the 'Mound' & if you go down the banking as my good mate Graham Perkin has done here you can get good shots looking up at the a/c as they line up on R23L. He will no doubt have uploaded the image on JP by now! This has to be one of the very best spots in Europe for the aviation enthusiast.
