Remarks: Seen taking off for the flyby that would include a B-1, a B-52, a C-130, a KC-135, a C-17, 2 F-16s, a T-28, a F-22...WOW. This is strangely my very first BUFF launch shot. What a day. This marks my 500th shot for JP's DB. What a great ride it has been so far!!
Remarks: Now on static display at the Century Circle area just outside the west gate of the base, this very first YC-15, predecessor to the C-17, sits awash in the glow of a glorious sunrise here in the cold, cold desert.
Remarks: The "Spirit of New York" whispers her way into the desert sky during the recent Edwards Flight Test Nation airshow. As big as she is, this is one graceful Dame.
Remarks: Seen here during the Edwards AFB airshow called Flight Test Nation, this F-16DG, with Brigadier General Yeager(ret.) on board, after opening the show with some sonic booms.
Remarks: Part of the SAR from Yuma MCAS, this HH-1N is seen here during a demo of a pickup of an injured comrade. The medic actually 'flies' under the bird, using his arms to stabilize him/herself so that they and the basket carrying the injured do not start to rotate.
Remarks: Painted to look like a Japanese torpedo bomber, this Texan flies past the "Wall of Fire", which was supposed to break a world record...10,000 feet long, 40 metres high, and burn for 5 seconds...don't think it quite made it, as this one did not even get to fly through flames.
Remarks: A fairly new Harrier, seen here at the Yuma Airshow '09 taxing out for the demo flight. A very skilled pilot, and an impressive demo was seen. Semper Fi!
Remarks: Not the normal wing shot, but all the same kinda nice. Seen here is one of the crew on a cell phone waiting for an answer to a problem with an engine.
