Remarks: Inaugural flight of Delta JFK-LYS (DL174) now operated by a B757-200WL in codeshare with Air France 5 times weekly. A nice new carrier for St-Exupéry airport. Welcome to you ! Delta had already opened a daily direct flight between Lyon and New York in 2000 operated by 767-300ER but was abolished in September 2001 after only 18 months of operation. American Airlines had also opened, from Lyon, a direct flight to the USA in the late 80's with a 767-200, which had also resulted in failure. Hopefully more success for this new attempt...
Remarks: Humanitarian flight chartered by Action Contre la Faim (ACF) with help of Airbus for victims of Haiti's earthquake. 20 tons of humanitarian emergency are ready to take off from the runway 36L for Port-au-Prince via Fort-de-France.
Remarks: The 6 of July 2001, the flight 906 took off from Lyon at 19:00 for a flight to Berlin, with 208 persons on board (197 passengers). While climbing through FL190 the aircraft encountered severe hail showers. Some instruments failed as a result, forcing the crew to return to Lyon for an emergency landing. The damage was too important and the plane too old (30 years) for envisage a repair. Consequently, Air Transat sold it to airport administrators for 1€. Now the plane is stored at St-Ex, in the cargo area.
