Remarks: Taken at 1/40. Figured I'd keep shooting as the sun went down to see if I could get lucky with a decent pan shot as a MAXjet 767 taxies behind her.
Remarks: Thanks to a perfect day, I can scratch this rare sight off my list! Here, the SCA 747 takes off from Barksdale AFB just outside SHV carrying Endeavour on the final leg of her Edwards AFB to Kennedy Space Center journey.
Remarks: QF108 during her last minutes of boarding and loading prior to the long nightly departure to SYD. The unique 10mm view of this massive 747-400 was taken from the AA ops tower.
Remarks: Waited all afternoon for this! Nearly a full moon. Clear skies. Either too high or too low. Finally nailed it just before sunset. Nikon D70 / Sigma 50-500mm.
Remarks: Taken onboard AA 1671 JFK-CUN, N684AA/N5DB, seat 3A, during climb out from 4L. Even in dismal weather conditions, this JFK ramp area still beats my now hometown airport DFW in full sunlight! Aircraft in photo: Thai A340-500, Etihad A340-500, SAA A340-300, Israir 767-383 (TF-FIC), Northwest A319, Emirates 777-300, Air India 777-200, Eurofly A330-200, North American 767-300, Xtra Airways (Travelspan) 737-8Q8 (G-XLAJ) and in the top left corner; Air France 777-200 and Saudi 747-400 (HZ-AIW).
Remarks: Just lucky. I pulled up to Imperial Hill, parked the car, got the camera out just as she was on her takeoff roll. Never knew who she really was until I looked through my viewfinder about a third of the way down the runway. That's when my heart started pounding. Dedicated to fellow photographer and friend Joe Statz - wish you were there, dude! :)
