Remarks: Tucked away behind some hangars I found this 1976 vintage gem. Delivered to Aerolineas Argentinas, it was eventually bought by the startup Virgin Atlantic Airways to operate their inaugural service to Newark in 1984 as G-VIRG. Kabo Air purchased it in 2001 and it was seen operating some Hadj flights since then. Numerous sources note this airframe as being scrapped but its still alive even though its missing a few bits.
Remarks: A long way from Moscow this 767 is broken down for spares in the scrap yard. This classic 1984 model was originally delivered to Ethiopian Airlines. Behind it is a Delta Tristar in its final death throes.
Remarks: While flying enroute over Turkey a pleasant surprise visit from EK242 who joined our airway flying from Toronto to Dubai. Special thanks to J. Dube for helping to make it possible.
Remarks: American briefly stored 847 at Amarillo before permanently retiring it in 2000 at Ardmore, Oklahoma. Check out the cool old abandoned terminal on the right.
Remarks: At the height of the Asian financial crisis many brand new airliners made their way to the desert for temporary storage. The second 737 from the bottom made its way to Frontier as N309FL with the Puffin on the tail.
