Remarks: First flight of the day out of Middle Wallop takes off right over the field where I would run every morning. Finally remembered to bring my camera one day to get a picture.
Remarks: Taken aboard the USS Intrepid Air & Space Museum. This Phantom was assigned to the VMFA-323 "Death Rattlers" out of MCAS Miramar in California and served aboard the USS Coral Sea.
Remarks: Taken aboard the USS Intrepid Air & Space Museum. This Harrier is on loan from the National Museum of the Marine Corps. She is from the VMA-231 "Aces of Spades" which is part of Marine Aircraft Group 14 stationed out of MCAS Cherry Point, North Carolina.
Remarks: On short final to Runway 19. A 22 second exposure while she passes over Gravelly Point. You can see the lights of D.C. and the Washington Monument in the background.
Remarks: Taken from the bleachers overlooking the ramp. Notice the armed guard below the tower and the Blue Angels in formation to the left of the tower making their final adjustments before their last formation pass over the airshow. The guy in the bottom right corner is sitting atop a USAF B-52 Stratofortress wing.
Remarks: A small sport plane powered by a very small 4-cycle engine and almost paper thin propellers. Currently owned by Taylor Aviation of Norfolk, Virginia. Oceana Airshow 2008.
