Remarks: This fully kitted out EC 145 climbs away from the Heliport today with the backdrop of Paris behind, no doubt in search of some car jackers or other riff raff on the streets of Paris. Shot from the 22nd floor of our hotel as the sun heads towards the horizon.
Remarks: This awesome looking Aérospatiale approaches the landing platform 4,000 feet down into the Canyon after her short decent from Grand Canyon West Airport.
Remarks: This huge lumbering beats arrives from Mumbai via ZSPD, looking great moments prior to touching down here in San Francisco in the lovely evening light.
Remarks: The Thunderbirds taxi out for the start of their display with #1 and #2 in unison heading towards the active here at Nellis with a nice wave from the pilots on their way past us.
Remarks: The Raptor lights up as she powers past on a high speed run into the darkening skies above with some impressive effects as the burners light up.
Remarks: Once again the lovely Oracle S-2S Special powers past in the midst of an awesome display breaking through the tape line set by the Oracle team looking on.
Remarks: The heritage fly-by in all its glory as a vintage Mustang, an F-16 and a sleek Raptor cruise by in formation over our heads here at Aviation Nation 2008.
Remarks: The Grand Canyon's sheer size and magnitude becomes apparent as we drop in over the west rim for an amazing flight towards the Canyon's airport.
Remarks: These lovely old workhorses are destined for the scrap heap and are becoming hard to find in a decent state. This TWA example has been sitting in the hot desert sun for many years and although still looking almost majestic as she once was, has been stripped for parts and awaits her fait.
Remarks: DHL hasn't put much effort into trying to remove this aircraft's identity before parking her up for the inevitable scrap heap. She looks almost usable with engines attached in the last light of the day.
