Remarks: The BNA-Photo crew came together this afternoon to get as many photographers to the airport as possible to snag this temporary Southwest livery. One call from someone at the airport enabled us to spread the word to all local members within a few minutes. Within 30 minutes there were five photographers ready to capture this aircraft from the gate to the runway...and even from across town as she was climbing out. As usual - well done, guys!
Remarks: A Continental ramp worker is almost finished pushing a 757-300 out to the open ramp area from gate C2, located at the far end of the alley.
An AirTran Airways' Boeing 717 (N965AT) passes by in the background on short final for runway 27R.
Remarks: "Northwest 9965 Heavy" is seen here shortly after exiting the active runway (20L) and is rolling down taxiway Hotel towards the terminal ramp. This aircraft arrived on Saturday afternoon (seen here) on a charter run for the Cleveland Browns NFL team. It departed a few hours later for McChord Air Force base, ran a military charter from McChord to Louisville, KY (KSDF) and then returned to Nashville early on Sunday morning for a day of rest before leaving with the Browns on Sunday evening. The BNA-Photo group has been waiting for this arrival since we learned of it back in August - and thankfully the weather was willing to play along.
Remarks: New 752 cargo conversion for Capital... The L1 door has been replaced with a smaller door and was moved into the cockpit, the lav is right behind the F/O's seat (basically, it is in the cockpit), and there are extra jumpseats attached to a metal wall that seperates the 'stretched' cockpit from the cargo area. Aside from the pilots, there were also 2 FAA observers and a Capital observer onboard for proving flights. Thanks again, guys...
Remarks: Just after push-back on an MIA-BNA-ILN run for DHL... The Captain on this flight is a fan of our BNA-Photo group and used one of our member's photos of this aircraft on his business cards. Thanks again for the tour...
Remarks: A few weeks prior to her first flight in test flight, workers still crawl all over the former N242NW in preperation for delivery to World. When 242 was parked by Northwest 2-years ago, she was thought to be a new bird for ATA - but now she will take to the skies again for World Airways.
Remarks: Overview of the lobby that connects the bridge to the terminal with the ticketing and baggage claim levels. Out of all of those people, the janitors are the only curious folks wondering what I'm doing...
Remarks: After a 12-hour flight from Auckland, QFA25 holds for almost an hour awaiting an empty gate at TBIT. I'm quite sure these folks were ready to get out of the aircraft when they landed...and now they get to sit still on the ground for another hour.
