Remarks: One of Emergency Management Queensland's new AW139 choppers. First registered 18/2/08. Here, ESJ is resting after transferring a patient from Bundaberg. Thanks to the hospital security for permitting access for this shot.
Remarks: Here the loadmasters aboard A41-208 guide the pilots while backtracking along runway 33. Mt Mitchell can be seen in the background. The aircraft was configured in its passenger carrying capacity. The seats are quite comfy with lots of leg room! Thank you to the RAAF, Camp Quality and the Starlight Foundation for their efforts for 'Fun Flight 08'.
Remarks: Jett Clipper Johnny snuck into Brisbane a few days ago. Although N707JT has been to Brissie many times before, this is the first chance I've had to catch it in the flesh.
Remarks: This Alpha model Hornet came screaming from behind the smoke cloud after a simulated ground attack run. A great display by the four ship team. Amberley Airshow 2008.
Remarks: A few days after I photographed the last two Hueys in Australian Army service, I was able to witness the next generation of Australian Army and Naval aviation with the handover of the first two MRH-90s to the Australian Defence Force. This is the Navy's first MRH-90, A40-002 coming into land in front of the Australian Aerospace hangar at Brisbane Airport. Apparently the Army and Navy are going to share a common pool of MRH-90s hence the camo scheme on both A40-002 (Navy) and A40-003 (Army).
Remarks: A few days after I photographed the last two Hueys in Australian Army service, I was able to witness the next generation of Australian Army and Naval aviation with the handover of the first two MRH-90s to the Australian Defence Force. Here the friendly crew of a A40-003 are getting a lift to the Australian Aerospace hangar. Apparently the Army and Navy are going to share a common pool of MRH-90s hence the camo scheme on both A40-002 (Navy) and A40-003 (Army).
Remarks: A2-484 (delivered June, 1970) seen here at Archerfield to be readied for storage at Camp Damascus, Meeandah. Formerly in service with the Army’s 171st Squadron, 1st Aviation Regiment. Arrived at YBAF on the 12/12/07 after a brief stint with the ARDU. Amazingly the first photo in the database of this great chopper.
Remarks: A2-296 was delivered to the RAAF in November of 1963. Served with the RAAF 5th Squadron before being transferred to the Army’s 171 Squadron, 1st Aviation Regiment. Arrived at Archerfield from RAAF Edinburgh after a short time with the ARDU on the 12/12/07. Note the Air Force titles applied to the nose. According to the ADF-Serials website, this aircraft is expected to be the last Huey flown by an RAAF crew. Here she is parked next to the hangar with her sistership A2-484. Will be prepared for storage and trucked to Camp Damascus, Meeandah.
