Remarks: I didn't know I got a shot of this aircraft in my database... I found a series of shots of this aircraft at approaching rwy 14R during searching other pictures.
Written off after crash in Bogota 7.7.08.
Remarks: The most shocking image I have ever taken in my short airplane enthusiasm career. The shot a lot of people were waiting to see. Notice the mud of the rescue team that entered the cockpit from the broken glass on the right. Also notice that the captain´s seat was removed to ease his way out of the plane. At last note the position of the controls! I will never forget the real sight of this, my first time in a 747 cockpit, well if we can consider it one.
Remarks: I just think that after the fire and the crash itself to the ground, the entire second floor of this 747 seems to be in good conditions, even so that the latest report as to how the crew is says that only one of them is still in a dangerouse condition. Who knows what will come to Kalitta Air.
Remarks: I still dont know how the cre survived... I hope this is the last 747 incident! Once again my thoughts goes to the 3 Colombians who lost their lives in the house that this 747 ran over.
Remarks: Speechless... really sad sight. Kalitta Air bird operated by Centurion Air Cargo departed at 3:50 am today, it reported flames on engine #4. It began a go around procedure to land again but unfortunately it didnt make it. All 8 crew members are alive, though some are still in the hospital. My thoughts go to those who lost their lives in a house that the airplane ran over.
Remarks: Flying for Centurion Air Cargo, Kalitta Air did the flight CWC 264, coming from Miami and Campinas. Arrived in Porto Alegre at 06:58PM (April, 28) and went to Rio de Janeiro and Miami at 00h42AM (April, 30). Very rare visitor in Porto Alegre!!! This Boeing 747 was converted to freighter in 2002. Ex China Airlines. Dedicated to all my friends of Porto Alegre!
