Remarks: Taken during a helicopter trip which took off from the Playa Dorada hotel complex. The empty apron soon fills up after midday with aircraft from North America and Europe..
Remarks: Overflying the airport during a 20 minute trip in a Robinson R44 Raven at around midday, later on in the afternoon the apron can get crowded with flights from North America and Europe. Thanks to the pilot who diverted a little from his usual path to fly over the airport.
Remarks: POP/MDPP Overview while enroute SDQ-PHL looking west. Puerto Plata's single runway 8-26 is 10105 feet/3080 meters long. Judging from the time of day 3 of the 4 airliners at the terminal should be an AA 757, AA 738, and CO 73G bound for JFK, MIA, and EWR. The fourth is probably a charter bound for Canada or Europe !
Remarks: (4th pic of 4) after a fast descent, touchdown is completed, on the central line. Hat off, Sir.... and thanks from all the aviation photography community !
Remarks: (3rd pic of 4) short final. Too much on the left now (ready for winds coming from the left side). High,... all lights are still white. Ready for the 'final drop'. All the rest confidential.
Remarks: (1st pic of 4) Left hand visual landing just at the end of the procedure turn. We are too far on the right. High enough, all pappi lights are white, as far as I see. Please respect other data as being confidential.
