Remarks: [1600px] A panoramic vista of McCarran Airport is provided courtesy of seat 2F aboard an Alaska Airlines 737 as we prepare to join the downwind to runway 7R. Of note in this photo: construction of Terminal 3, which is now home to all international carriers serving LAS, as well as several domestic airlines, has yet to even begin. Also, it's interesting to note the 30+ US Airways aircraft parked at the A/B concourses. US shuttered its former America West hub here in the wake of the 2008 fuel crisis, but at this point in the summer of 2007, it was still nearly at its peak, offering over 200 daily flights to 70+ international and domestic markets.
Remarks: Part of the biz jet ramp at KLAS houses these two beauties from the Sands Corp fleet. The livery on these two birds looks fantastic and i'm so glad to see them flying in the sky still. Shame there was no tri-star there and i understand that their fate is looking bleak now! (7D/100-400LIS)

Several aircraft can be seen including an Omni 757 in the foreground, a US Air A320 taxiing and some of the famous Sands Corp fleet including one of the 747 SP's and the 767 as well as numerous smaller private jets. A handfull of WN 737s, an American MD-80, and a US Airways A320 await takeoff. Taken from 37K feet on G-CIVK, operating BA 283 enroute LHR-LAX. [Canon EOS 60D + Canon EF 70-200 f/4 L USM Lens]
