Remarks: Amazingly this pictured terminal is 1 of 2 that serves this small city airport. Reconstructed back in 2000, this small, quaint terminal building sits right in the heart of the capital. The few check in desks that are operational, sit here with little activity during a quiet afternoon spell.
Remarks: Arrivals hall and departure lounge all in one picture at Reykjavik City Airport which has no security screening or airside area and operates more like a bus terminal than an airport. Right of the picture is baggage reclaim, and the doorway to the left is gate #1. Pictured shortly before checkin began for our first flight of the day to Akureyri, Iceland.
Remarks: During my short trip over to Iceland we stumbled upon this viewpoint overlooking Reykjavik's domestic inner city airport. Here you can see quite possibly the entire fleet of 'Fluegflag Islands" sat on the ramp waiting to be sent out on their short hops around the island. The weather was typically Icelandic today and rather crap. (400D/100-400LIS)
Remarks: [461] Airport overview of Reykjavik's downtown airport. A small plane is landing while three Fokker 50 of Air Iceland are parked at the gate. Also visible: The Icelandair Loftleidir Hotel on the right and the Tower on the left.
Remarks: Taken from The Pearl on Oskjuhlid Hill, the exec ramp is behind the control tower and the domestic terminal is in the background, where Fk50s and Dash 8s operate from.
