Remarks: It is very rare to see a Kadena based tanker at mildenhall.however although it is fully marked in 18th WG colours it is actually assigned to the 22nd ARW at Mcconnell AFB.

Remarks: On static display at Aero India 2011. An old, but true work horse for the US Air Force, which has been in service since 1957!!!
Finally last week, the Air Force announced that Boeing had won the contract to replace the KC-135 with a Next Gen tanker built on the Boeing 767 platform. Airbus decided not to contest the decision and these old work horses will start to retire by 2017 !!!
Remarks: No fancy glass cockpit on this old aircraft. Its more the traditional dials and guages. Its successor (the next Gen refuelling tanker based on Boeing 767 platform) however will have an ultra modern cockpit based on Boeing 787.
