| Remarks: This air ambulance is one of two operated by the Romanian Ministry of Administration and Interior, serving the Transylvania region. The third, identical aircraft, crashed shortly after take-off on 9 January 2006 near Iasi airport, killing all four of its occupants. [Update: This helicopter was also lost during a sortie on 23 December 2006 over mountainous terrain in Northern Transylvania. The two pilots sustained multiple, but non-critical injuries, the two medical staff, also on board at the time, were unhurt.] |
