Remarks: As the Chugach Mountains stand imposingly in the background, a beautiful Eva Cargo trijet departs Anchorage bound for Taipei at close to 11pm local time. Summer time in Alaska sure is a treat!
Remarks: Glorious weather has befallen Charlotte, North Carolina over the 2006 Thanksgiving weekend. A freshly repainted US Airways 757 climbs taxiway Golf toward runway 36R, as our airport ops escort idles in the foreground.
Remarks: Two staples of Alaskan aviation take to the skies simultaneously as an Everts DC-6 thunders into the air off runway 32, while one of the literally thousands of seaplanes based at nearby Lake Hood climbs away from a West departure on a glorious autumn afternoon in Anchorage.
Remarks: My first afternoon ever spotting at Anchorage brought a pleasant surprise -- the second Northwest 757 with the new blended winglets! Seen here arriving on runway 14 from Minneapolis. The first shot on the internet of this one wearing winglets!
Remarks: The palms are swaying, the waters are brilliant crystal blue, and the sun is warm on another gorgeous afternoon on St. Maarten as United's weekly service from Chicago is about to land on runway 09.
Remarks: A wide angle view shows the semi-official (and very popular) Shenzhen spotting area as the daily FedEx MD-11 from Anchorage rolls out on runway 15. The sea wall and adjacent perimeter road provide a great vantage point for photography all along the west boundary of the airfield!
Remarks:Photography: St. Maarten style! JetPhotos.Net photographer and photo screener James Rowson takes advantage of the shade provided by the tropical palm trees as he captures AA2160 from San Juan on short final to runway 09.
Remarks: A new airline for St. Maarten, Canjet's 737-500 is shown on only her second-ever landing at Juliana Airport after the long flight from Montreal. Canjet is providing Saturday-only charter service for Transat Holidays during the summer season this year. Welcome to St. Maarten!
Remarks: JetPhotos.Net'ers Dale Coleman (black shorts) and Trent Sellers (red shorts) duck out of the way, while James Rowson stands his ground as F-OIJO makes a dramatic low approach to the picturesque St. Barths Airport.
Remarks:Tranquility. The swimming pool at the Royal Islander Club, and indeed much of the Maho Beach area is quiet on a lazy Sunday afternoon in the Caribbean as Air France 488 marks an on-time arrival from Paris.
Remarks: Showers are in the area as Windward 668 approaches Juliana Airport on the short flight from St. Barthelemy in the late evening. Thanks to the flight crew for such a wonderful, albeit, short flight. [1200x842]
