Remarks: Early in the morning. The first rays of the sun appear far away beyond the airport, and the airport is starting the new day... Good morning everyone!
Remarks: One of the great spotting locations at ZRH. This one is called "The Heligrill". From here you can see all the "heavies" departing from rwy 16 and some smaller aircraft taking off from rwy 28. [Google Earth 47°27'11.92"N 8°32'55.13"E] Also thanks to Gianluca and Alex, it was nice meeting you guys.
Remarks: "Tails meeting"... Nice view from my window abaord HB-IQA after the touchdown on runway 14 as LX 257 from Tel-Aviv Ben Gurion. I dedicate this photo to my friend Alberto Ceriana from Italy, that I met him for the first time around Kloten Airport during this trip. You're very important to me as my brother! Greetings to you and to your family.
Remarks: View looking towards the main Terminal building from the E-gates viewing gallery. This early evening shot shows typical short haul operators seen regularly at Zurich, along with SR Technics, the control tower and evidence of further construction.
Remarks: [1200 px] Runway 28 in use. A Lufthansa 737 (D-ABIS) taking off, while a small prop is about to land. On the right, a Germanwings is holding short
Remarks: Zurich's viewing gallery is currently on top of the E gates, reached by getting an airside bus. The viewing gallery is located on top of the Western end of the Terminal building, looking South to runway 10/28 and West to runway 16/34. It's a shame the whole level is not open. Photography when sunny can be difficult from up here, but the views are good. This image was taken before the lunchtime mass exodus of Swiss long haul aircraft using the E gates, looking South-East towards the threshold of runway 28. One note is that the roof of the viewing gallery is not watertight, so if it is raining, you may prefer to view from the indoor area which is located away from the outer edge of the gallery.
