Remarks: A fantastic sunset coupled with heavy traffic in Boston! RZO 221 Heavy from Ponta Delgada, Azores descends on 27 as a 737 pulls hard off of 22R and a traffic copter circles the city.
Remarks: Embry-Riddle flew this aircraft in the 1930's as part of its training fleet. In 2010 the university purchased the aircraft back from a private owner and restored it to be flown in airshows and at publicity functions to promote the school.
Remarks: The Great New England Air Show 2012. This shot was taken in the middle of the afternoon, when the temperature inside the cockpit must have reached well over 100F! I'm grateful to the crew for hanging in there!
Remarks: Technik Museum Sinsheim. This rare Stuka crashed near Saint-Tropez in 1944 and was raised from the seabed in 1989. The museum will display it in this state and has no plans to restore it.
Remarks: The third Dreamliner built is being pushed back into the Delta Hangar. This was the first visit of the Dreamliner to Boston and it was organized for both operational reasons (gate trials) as well as promotional reasons (JAL's introduction of the B787 on the NRT-BOS route; in fact note the dude in the JAL jacket).
Remarks: The Great New England Air Show 2012. Three-holers are becoming more and more rare these days. So, it was fantastic to visit the cockpit of this KC-10. Many thanks to the friendly crew for the opportunity.
Remarks: The Great New England Air Show 2012. The business end of this A-10 from the 163rd Fighter Squadron, the "Blacksnakes". The snake art is a nice change from the more usual shark art.
