It is a sad sight seeing the last days of such a dignified and gracious workhorse such as this 747. This one even had special titles on the nose thanking it for its hard work.
Just one or two DC8s stored here!
Lots of Southern Air 747s stored in Mojave. Sadly I doubt any of them will ever fly again. Also in this photo, European 737-200, Aerolineas Argentinas 747-400, Southwest 737-300 amongst others.
Plenty of 747s in Mojave. Seen here are four ex-Southern Air 747s, two Atlas Airs, two ex-Lufthansa 747-400s, one of which carries an Atlas-style registration and an ex-Aerolineas Argentinas 747-4... (more)
Mojave has lots of Southern Air 747 Classics. Sad to see so many stored there, wearing their smart new scheme. I am guessing this one, like her sisterships will never fly again.
How did a fighter from Denmark wind up in Mojave?
Looking too smart to be in the scrapyard.
The end is very near. Scanned from a slide.
Another great name from the past. Scanned from a fuji slide.
