Remarks: A very nice Thai G5 parked outside Platinum after arriving the previous afternoon from Gladstone. She would then depart later that day to U-tapao Airport in Thailand.
Remarks:LAN Chile 800 heading out of the INTL apron to depart for Santiago after a quick tag-on from Sydney. One of the more exotic carriers to see at AKL and a welcome sight from all the NZ tails.
Remarks:The Hobbit making a grand entrance after arriving from Melbourne as New Zealand 124. A minute later this would rock up right outside my quiet gate lounge in the airport to later depart to LAX. Such a fitting aircraft for my 777th photo in the database!
Remarks:New Zealand 937 completing the 3 hour flight from Auckland today operated by one of two A320s previously leased out by Air New Zealand. Unfortunately, the other one, OJL, crashed on a training flight in Europe. This one came back to the fleet in May 2012 after serving with TAM in Brazil.
Remarks:Mount Cook 206 enroute NPE-AKL over the massive Lake Taupo with the township seen just behind the prop. You can see the reflection of the aircraft on the engine!
Remarks:Emirates 407 departing RWY23L to Melbourne and Dubai, one of two daily A380s to arrive and depart at AKL. This drew a huge crowd on the viewing deck!
Remarks:Island of Koro at bay 1 soon to depart back to Nadi in some overcast conditions. It was good to catch Air Pacific's only 737-700 in AKL, one I had been wanting to tick off my list.
