Remarks: Sadly written off on takeoff on 01.08.2007. when she descended into trees at the edge of the airfield. Despite having a wing torn off, all three occupants were uninjured apart from a scratched hand !! Thanks to the airport manager for kindly allowing a one off access.
Remarks: The viewing area on top of the terminal, accessible from ground side, looks straight up the taxiway. Shooting is through a chain link fence which makes things difficult but not impossible.
Remarks: Visiting enroute UK - Saudi Arabia following technical upgrades. Seen here at park 4 with the crew performing shutdown checks prior to their overnight stay.
Remarks: High speed flyby ( General consensus among the gathered observers was approximately 300 knots !! ) and break for landing at the end of a 30 minute shakedown by the new owner. Followed a rather embarrassing but non-damage inducing "tap" against the fence while taxiing out. Edit.30.11.07. Now registered on UK reg, ex RA3364K
Remarks: Heathrow...Myrtle Avenue...what else but BA ? The A30 main road in front going to Central London to the right. Hatton Cross Rail Station is off frame to the right on the far side of the road with the BA 747 descending over the threshold of 27L. GoogleEarth 51deg 27' 49.14"N-0deg. 25' 42.44"W
Remarks: About 25 minutes away from a Gatwick landing over the English Channel. Three or four different cloud types and variable lighting makes an attractive view which belies the turbulence experienced when descending through the cloud later.
