Remarks: [1200 pix] Costa Rican Spotters were out in full force for this event. This is only the third Antonov 124 we have had at MROC in the last 20 years and my first time spotting one. The Antonov arrived form Cabo Verde to pick up two water treatment plants commissioned by the US government for one of their bases in Kandahar, Afganistan. Here we see the Antonov departing to Germany with stops at El Salvador and Canada. Local Costa Rican Spotters Alejandro Vargas and Daniel Umaña capture this special moment. I’m sure you will all see several shots of this aircraft from this location over the next several days, but I wanted to capture the essence of spotting and its rewards. Remarks: Classic DC-9 freighter departing from SJO after a maintenence check in Coopesa. Its still nice to see many classics arriving for routine checks in our airport, some coming from as far as Africa and Asia. (Thanks to Mr. T for the reference)
