Remarks: First of two prototypes. Experimental VTOL vehicle used to demonstrate jet VTOL capabilities. Made its first horizontal flight on December 10, 1955 and months later horizontal/vertical transitions. At the bottom right side of the picture "Star Trek Shuttle" simulator NCC 1701-D can be seen, ready for the Star Trek Exhibition 5 days later.
