Remarks: A view of London City Airport's control tower. This was taken at the airport's Fun Day when thousands of people roamed the aprons looking for things to see and do.
Remarks: Taken from G-EUPH, operating BA1475 from GLA, as we bank right to line up with the 27R centreline at LHR. From left to right: AF(CityJet) 146, Scot Airways 328, AF(CityJet) 146, VLM F.50, AF(CityJet) 146, KLM F.50, LH Dash8 and a BA Connect 146.
Remarks: Heading from EDI on a rainy day. On the right hand side of the picture you can see HB-IYU wich has dammaged after a tail stike and been transferred by boat on the other side of the airport.
On the left hand side, you can see the extension of the apron slowly coming up from the water.
Remarks: Cityjet's EI-RJS is taking off while Swiss's HB-IYU sits with covered titles on the apron waiting to be repaired after it's hard landing and tailstrike on Aug 18th, 2007. In the background you can see the former Millenium Dome and London's CBD.
Remarks: VLM Fokker F50 side slipping against a crosswind to land on runway 28 at LCY. If you don't land before the last of the lights in the touchdown zone you better go around - it's a short runway!
Remarks: Another busy day at EGLC. Fokker 50 just leaving as a Luxair Embraer is on the steep approach for the 1500m runway. The tall buildings are at Canary Wharf and the white building is the O2 Dome concert venue. How many F50's and Avro RJ's can you spot?
Remarks: The 1500m runway looks very short from here. A steep approach with airbrakes deployed for D-AVRO Lufthansa BAE 146 landing at London City Airport.
Remarks: View of a crowded London City Airport in Docklands. VLM Fokker 50 on the runway. The big white building is the O2 Dome concert venue for shows by Bon Jovi, Prince etc.. The runway is 1500m with a steep 5.5' glideslope.
