Remarks: As the sun is setting, we headed back to JNB. It was already a bumpy ride when I made this shot. I like the way it feels that the sun is being cut by the propeller. This plane is nearly 70 years old, and it was the last built DC-4. It was a major honor to fly on it, but mother nature had some evil plans for our arrival in JNB: hail, thunderstorms, extreme rain and lots of planes orbiting the airport. After 25 minutes orbiting the airport and not being able to line up, a zillion scary ups and downs, extreme turbulence and to scare us even more, heavy noise of hail hitting the fuselage and propellers, we made a smooth and safe landing on runway 03R. Sorry about the quality, but a dirty and scratchy 67 years old window does not help much and the turbulence makes it even hard to get the perfect shot.
