Remarks: This aircraft entered servive in 1952 and served in many roles including a flying test bed for the Sapphire jet engine, radar developement trials, and rearward looking ASW circuit TV monitor trials, and finally as a spray tanker in aircraft de-icing trials,it finished its developement career as an aerodynamic test bed for the T.22 variant and was acquired by the museum in 1985.
Remarks: Where do I start with odd looking little thing, this is a pre production airframe which first flew in 1983.The aircraft was designed to provide quick reaction close military support and also to be easily dismantled for quick deployment around the battlefield, armament 7.62mm chain gun, optional rocket launchers, and anti personnel mines,I don't think I would have liked to sit in it when a rocket was fired!I beleive this is the first photo of this aircraft type in the database.
