Remarks: This may be a "simple" shot of an UA A320 but it for the crew of United 353 (UAL353) it was little more intense. While enroute to Sacramento (KSMF) from Denver (KDEN) they smelled smoke in the cockpit and diverted to RNO. They requested fire to meet them but were not expecting to evacuate, landed long on 16R and taxied the United gates with fire and ops in tow. They ended up departing back to SMF around 6:50pm that evening.
Remarks: Despite all the background clutter I am still happy with this photo for obvious reasons! Tanker 23 just starting to taxi to the hot load ramp to fill up with retardant after sitting idle for a few hours due to weather. In the background Tanker 55 (N355MA/SP-2H) and sister P-3A Tanker 21 (N921AU) are already getting their loads of retardant.
