Remarks: Designed as an experimental V/STOL transport. Total of 5 built, and #522 is the only remaining. Note the horizontal mounted tail rotor. This last of its kind aircraft has been cleaned up & restored and is now displayed indoors.
Remarks: After a long service life with United, which included a forced landing near Saugus, California in 1964, N73102 served Frontier and Aspen, and survives today as a Convair 580 with Honeywell International, registered N580AS.
