Remarks: I saw this airplane take off from Santa Monica Airport, seconds later it had crashed at the Penmar Golf Course which is a couple of hundred feet away from the runway. I spoke with a couple of people that saw it come down, they said that the airplanes enginge was off since they didn't hear no noise coming from the plane. It basically nose dove while spinning and hit a tree, pilot didn't make it.
Remarks: The emergency call at the Tower came to 14.57: "Engine failure left!" Fly curve... ", then crashed the machine to a field.
Seven people were injured, 21 more passengers could reconcile intact in security.

Remarks: Immediately after landing SQ297 was surrounded by emergency services following a smoky landing, likely caused by a locked brake on the right main landing gear.
Remarks: This Boeing 772 had a small accident during taxi. On her way to its final parking position it hit a light pole near the taxiway. After all not real serious damage. Also note that this was the first visit of a Boeing 772 to MST!
