Remarks: Fighting noses on the ramp at Aero India 2011. All fighting to win the Indian Airforce's lucrative MMRCA deal.
What an impressive and lethal lineup - 2 Dassault Rafales, 2 F-16s, 1 F-18 and 2 Eurofighter Typhoons. The Saab Gripen is missing from the pic. For some strange reason it was not parked on the ramp along with the other fighter jets and was instead parked at the other end of the runway.
Remarks: In service with the UAE Air Force and is a regular visitor at Aero Indias. The UAE F16s are fitted with conformal fuel tanks (CFTs) - seen on the upper surface of the F-16’s fuselage. CFTs have the tank’s lower surface conforming to the aircraft shape and giving a muscular look to the normally svelte F16. These lightweight CFTs holds 450 gallons of additional fuel.
