Remarks: Close-up of this written-off SAX ERJ. The nose was bent backwards when it went off the runway and smashed onto the road which goes around the airport. Part of the perimeter fence can be seen still attached to the front !
Remarks: My first reaction was they performed a firedrill as a SAAB surrounded by numerous emergency vehicles was parked halfway into one of the hangars . A little later, from another angle, I realised the hangar doors were still closed... This was the result of a maintenance run going very bad. Fortunately all people involved survived. Remarks: A Glasgow - Corfu flight which diverted in due to electrical failure. The emergency services were put on alert and also, because the aircraft was at maximum landing weight the brakes were monitored for high temps after landing.

Remarks: Crashed following a loss of engine power and subsequent forced landing at the Robert Moses State Park, Babylon.
Examination of the engine revealed that the #4 cylinder connecting rod failed. The failed connecting rod breached the top of the engine case below the #4 cylinder.
Remarks: Rescue workers rush to the scene after NASCAR team owner Jack Roush crashed his Premier I nest to the runway, minutes after the Oshkosh airshow ended. The two occupants have been taken to the hospital.
Remarks: On the 7th December 2009 after a normal landing on a slightly wet runway 11 this aircraft failed to slow down, burst through the perimeter fence at the end of the runway, went down a slight embankment and then came to rest on the road which goes around the airport. All 33 people on board survived.
Remarks: During the "100 years of aviation in Switzerland" celebration, Switzerland's biggest air show in 2010, HB-YDB crashed during the landing. The co-pilot got out straight away, the pilot was pulled out by the rescue crew and taken to hospital. I wish him a speedy recovery!
Remarks: This aircraft was lost on April 21, 1941, while flying over the Libyan desert after a bombing mission. The wreckage was discovered in 1960 by a helicopter working for an oil drilling company and it is now on display at the Volandia aviation museum.
