Remarks: Stbd front view of Lavochkin La-9 ZK-LIX taxying back beside Rwy 11, after a practice flying display at Warbirds Over Wanaka 2010. The pilot was weaving the aircraft on the sloping ground, as it is impossible to see straight ahead past the large radial engine. Conditions were dusty on Friday 02Apr10, making the hills at rear hard to see in this view. The La-9, which is the only airworthy example in the world, was flown in company with Yakovlev Yak-3 ZK-YYY. Also, the La-9 flew it's last New Zealand display at WOW 2010, before being shipped to USA.
