Remarks: The ramp at my favorite airport, Mumbai Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport, as we dock on to the gates at Terminal 1. Seen next to me is the Indian Airlines Airbus A319, followed by Air India Airbus A319, and 3 IndiGo Airbus A320s, couple of Jet Airways Boeing 738s and a SpiceJet Boeing 738 visible in the distance. Also seen is the 9W and AI flights pushed back from the gates to fly out of VABB. This picture is dedicated to all my VABB friends whom I have known through Aviation and Plane Spotting.
Remarks: [1200 px] Horrible Heat & Light on this day in The Indian Capital nearly spoilt this perfect photo opportunity. I find the MD-11F reversing hard, with all 3 engine cowlings open, pretty cool! This bird was delivered to LH on 1998-09-17 & is named 'Michael Otto', who is the head of German Otto Group, the world's largest mail order company (Source: Wikipedia). Thanks Sriram for lending the lens on this day!
Remarks: Aerial view of the former Airport of Le Frejús-Saint Raphael. Still it is possible to see the large X´s on the track, to indicate the closure of the air field.
The airport is closed from 1999, but appears to be well-maintained. Now it is used as a sport complex and contains facilities for, among others football, rugby, running, and basketball.
