One of three 11 Sqn Typhoons (ZJ912) is seen here dropping back from a wing-tip formation to take on fuel from Voyager ZZ339 over the North Sea.
This aircraft is a composite using parts from Meteor WA984 as well. The airframe now wears the identity VZ440, the serial of the RAF’s first F8 delivered to No 43 Squadron in August 1949.
