Remarks: "Tenacious" (Del 5/90) preparing to depart using the callsign "Blackhawk 213" after attending the Aviation Careers Expo run by Aviation Australia. Just prior to take off the chopper returned to parking and shut down with a maintenance issue that would require 24hrs to rectify.
Remarks:Starting up ready to track south heading for Port Macquarie after a quick fuel stop with a much larger Jetstar A330 ready to board to Tokyo. [Canon 50D]
Remarks: Served with Australian Army 161 Recce Flight, 1965 to 1971 at Nui Dat Vietnam. This aircraft was the last Cessna 180 to be flown in Vietnam on 14/02/71. Returned to Australia and currently on display at the Museum of Australian Army Flying at Oakey. Its last recorded flight was on 23 Sep 1987.
Remarks: This is quite a historic Australian aircraft. This is the first Army Nomad which was the second prototype aircraft, VH-SUR. Aircraft 02 featured tail modifications to increase the fin area and raise the rudder, and was displayed at the 1972 Farnborough Air Show. This aircraft was leased to the Army as A18-002 in July 1973, but crashed three months later on 3 October. After being repaired at GAF as VH-SUR, this aircraft was returned to the Army in 1976 as an instructional airframe at No 5 Base Workshops, and today is a gate guard at the Army Aviation Centre, Oakey, Queensland. The aircraft probably never operated with the current serial number.
