Remarks: Close-up view of the Rolls Royce Merlin engine of composite RAF 361 Spitfire Mk.IX (LF9) RR232 owned by Sydney collector Peter Sledge, on display at HMAS Albatross/ NAS Nowra on 06Oct1986. I believe that the fuselage of the Spitfire came from South Africa, the (clipped) wings from Thailand, and the Merlin engine came from an RAAF Lincoln bomber. The Restored Spitfire IX (Reg G-BRSF) was flown at Filton UK on 18Dec2012 by Bill Perrins. Low res photo.
Remarks: One of the JQ A320s running around with the short lived titles that can only be seen on half a dozen aircraft at the disconnect point for its first of many sectors of the day. [Canon 7D]
