Remarks: Definitely not a small prop. This prop is huge and you can feel the power of it just meters away. It's slow turning. It takes 1/60s to get a full blur which is quite hard to get without motion blur in a bouncing photoship.
Remarks: The wonderful golden canopy of the Raptor. Looks very, very expensive. Also note the shark skin like structure of the radar absorbing coating on the fuselage.
Remarks: One of those images I keep looking at. They look so sturdy and brave, side by side, with those noses pointing right into the bright light. As if they say: "Let me go, let me go!". But they are here to stay until eternity. Makes me kind of sad.
Remarks: I was told it is difficult to take pictures at Victorville. Well, it is not, really. There is a perimeter road running all around the airport. But it is a very bad dirt road. You will need a 4-wheel drive and a ladder as the fences are quite high. The road is bad but you can take great pictures from all over the airport. The staff and construction workers we met were nice and helpful, no problem at all while taking pictures. Be early because heat haze can ruin all your pictures here. When I was there it had rained and without the Jeep we couldn't have done it. We forgot the ladder, but then the great spotters saying comes into play: Don't be gentle, it's a rental!
Remarks: The bone is hard to capture. The afterburners throw up a curtain of heat making everything hazy and they are hard to focus on due to the lack of contrast.
Remarks: Taken right over the two runways, creating a nice tele effect. After all those years in service, I consider the 747 still one of the most beautiful aircrafts there are.
