Remarks: Maersk Air were a BA franchise operator based at Birmingham in the early part of this decade. When BA ended the franchise the airline after a management buyout became duo Airways until it sadly ceased operations in May 2004. [1200 pixels]
Remarks: Amazing to find no photos of this aircraft on the database yet. Seen at its regular BHX base wearing the Egyptian world tail 'Crossing Borders'. [1200 pixels]
Remarks: Rare shot of Royal Jordanian at Birmingham. Various reports suggest this was either a series of chrater flights or trials with a possible future service to come. In any case sadly RJA never did become a fixture at Birmingham. [1200 pixels]
Remarks: Turning to line up on 08R back in the days when this charter airline existed. Airtours was subsequently MyTravel and is now part of Thomas Cook airlines, where this aircraft is still active.
Remarks: I can't believe there are no photos of this aircraft wearing this admittedly short lived livery on the d/b here so far. On approach to 27L at Heathrow back in 2002.
Remarks: Gatwick always had a tremendous variety in its traffic which made a day there so much fun. Despite the struggles of its home country Air Zimbabwe still flies twice weekly between Harare and Gatwick.
Remarks: Two BA jumbos hold short of 08R at Gatwick one wearing the classic Landor livery, the other wearing British Asia Airways titles and the Chelsea Rose world tail. Seems like so long ago now !
