The aircraft is Stbd wing low due to a cross-wind from the South. Photo taken during the Dragon Rapide's arrival at Warbirds Over Wanaka (WOW) 2010, in company with other Vintage aircraft. The aircraft is painted in the livery used by the UK 'Royal Flight' in 1935. This was the personal aircraft of King George V.

Photo taken before a massed flying display at Warbirds Over Wanaka (WOW) 2010. The aircraft wears 'Fanta Can' Orange/White/Silver livery, and the wheels are 'Down and Welded'. (No need to retract the gear, and no chance of a 'Wheels-Up landing! - Fixed Gear was a design feature retained by the CT4 AirTrainer, which replaced the Winjeel as the RAAF Basic Trainer).
Remarks: Dynamic close cropped front Stbd top-side view of 3 Squadron RNZAF UH-1H Iroquois helicopter NZ3804 (Built 1966), taken during a handling display at Warbirds Over Wanaka (WOW) 2010. The exhaust from the Lycoming T-53-L13 engine is visible against the ridge-line at rear. Sadly, Sister-ship NZ3806 crashed near Pukerua Bay (about 40 km North-East of Wellington) early in the morning on 25Apr2010. The helicopter was one of three flying from their Ohakea base to Wellington for an Anzac Day Flypast. Three crew died in the crash, and one was seriously injured. Condolences are extended to families and friends of the crew.

The aircraft is 'Stbd wing low' due to a gusting Southerly cross-wind. The Yak-3, which was converted from a Yak-11, was flown in company with Lavochkin La-9 ZK-LIX. (Red Air Force rising.)

A bit of dust is being generated despite overnight rain. During the day ZK-AMY did a drop of NZ Army 'paratroops' in company with ex 42 Squadron RNZAF C-47D Dakota ZK-DAK (NZ3546).
