Earlier in the day, N106US crossed the Delaware Memorial Bridge from New Jersey. The additional logos on the fuselage are companies helping sponsor the move, and if you look closely, the white support vehicle is branded in a US Airways colors.
Remarks: 3:30 pm Northern Thunderbird Air Beechcraft 100 king Air crashed without warning returning to YVR with 7 passengers and two crew. All were pulled from the aircraft by drivers from cars stopped on the road where the plane crashed. Two passengers in a vehicle struck were taken to hospital along with all the occupants of the plane.
Remarks: Former Interisland YAK-40 became a "resident" at Caticlan Airport after its landing accident in 2006. After sitting for many years, she now poses as a Welcome billboard for arriving passengers to this tropical island.
Remarks: This E-2C formerly of VAW-126 hit a deer while taxiing at night. The deer ran into the prop and was thrown through the fuselage damaging the airframe beyond repair. You can see a shiny aluminum patch just ahead of the wing to repair the skin where the deer entered the fuse. The airframe is now used for fire practice.
Remarks: The Boeing 727 of Iran Air that was traveling from Moscow to Tehran had an emergency landing in Tehran's Mehrabad airport because the nose landing gear did not open. The pilot landed the aircraft with his skills, and The passenger and crews were not injured.Iranians and Iran Air are proud of their skilled pilots.
Remarks:Emergency Landing! Diverted here due to loss of a hydraulic system. It touched down with a higher speed then normal, that lead to fire building up in its rear undercarriage and as can be noted, the final position of the a/c with respect to the runway was more then 3/4's of the total length. After coming to a stop fire personnel surrounded the aircraft and a fire fighting can still be seen throwing the fluid at the tyre for precaution. a/c departed around a week later.
Remarks: Crash landing onto Florida’s Turnpike averted a catastrophe — no vehicles were struck, and the crew were in "fair" condition — but resulted in a large rescue response and clean-up operation that closed the busy highway for hours and caused monumental traffic jams for South Florida motorists well into the evening rush hour. After engine failure on final for North Perry Airport , the pilot put her down on the Turnpike’s northbound lanes near Hollywood Boulevard about 1:30 p.m.
