Remarks: The viewing deck at the A5 motorway and the Airlift Memorial. VN-A145 gets towed to south for some rest before her afternoon departure. Greetings to fellow spotter Jens Achauer. Google Earth: 50° 2'21.73"N 8°35'48.61"E
Remarks: Rare picture. Scanned from old paper print. Sorry for the poor quality.
Visitors platform in the 1960s: No fences or any security personell. What a dream for spotters... In the back a 707 of PAN AM can be seen.

Ramp Overview with a Comet of BOAC on the left, three 707 of PAN AM and the nose of a Caravelle on the right.
Remarks: An overview of the main spotting location at Frankfurt Airport, located on the Southeast side of the airport, meaning light is good between 9am and 5pm. A quick 15 minute walk from the Terminal will get you here, and the Intercity Hotel is just a 5 minute walk in the opposite direction, a good choice for a hotel if on a mini spotting trip. Arrivals on both RWY's 25R and 25L can be photographed here along with aircraft being towed between the remote stands and the terminal, as can be seen in this picture. Remarks: Overview of the taxiway and ramp on the southside of FRA. Seen are a row of aircraft heading to departure on both RWY 18 and RWY 15L, except for the Qantas 747 which is heading towards short term storage before it's return flight to Sydney. [1400 pix]
Remarks: The viewing terrace at Terminal 2 in Frankfurt. Entrance fee of only 5 Euros. Worth the money, but if you want some good sunrise shots then maybe not the best place coz it opens at 1000 hrs.
Remarks: Tailparade in FRA. Due to vulcanic activities in Iceland 5 A340 and 2 A330 are parked untill further notice. A340 from the right to the left: D-AIHI / D-AIHH / D-AIHS / D-AIHL / D-AIHF, behind A330: D-AIKM / D-AIKB
Remarks: "Wherever you're going, we're flying" - not the best advertising slogan these days. Almost empty terminal with all flights cancelled in last few days due to the Iceland's Eyjafjallajokull volcano eruption.
