Remarks: Notice those two dots below the plane they're a pair of mating eagles ;) who were courting each other all afternoon with their loud screams. Airplane owned by India Flysafe Aviation Ltd.
Remarks: Beautiful nose-down attitude on short finals for this CRJ, i was stretching myself wayyy out from the Orchid gallery to see her touchdown. JetLite's CRJ's have all but stopped flying in & out of BOM atleast from all of my spotting since this photograph. These used to be among my favorite planes to spot however, with oil prices being where thay are now we might just see them back in BOM ;)
Remarks: Date of Production : 26th March 1982, Date of Delivery : 27th May 1982, Engines : CF6-50C2.
This was quite a special moment for me as i will be seeing an IC A300 on taxiway A4 only one more time after this. Inducted in the IC Fleet in 1976, Indian Airlines became the the first & only domestic airline in the world at that time to operate the A300's, these machines were the workhorses for their operator & they were retired from the Indian Airlines Fleet after 32 years of glorious service.
When Iraq invaded Kuwait in 1990-91, a record 111,711 Indians were airlifted from Amman in 1990 over a period of 59 days by Air India (AI) & Indian Airlines (IC) operating a total of 488 flights, The Largest Civilian Evacuation in History - still a World Record. And one of the workhorses of that operation was the IC A300.
